Why Should We Study The Doctrine Of The Trinity?
To know God. Deep Consideration, Thinking And Feeling.
What Is The Trinity?
The one God who eternally exists as three distinct persons – Father, Son , Holy Spirit. Each are fully and equally God in eternal relations with each other.
They each think, act, feel, speak, and relate because they are persons and not impersonal forces. NOTE – The Holy Spirit is not an IT!!!
Trinity in Scripture:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

God The Father
The Father is as much God as the Son and the Holy Spirit
Isaiah 64:8 – But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.
James 1:17 – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
The Father Is The Supreme Being.
Nature Is Love
Absolute Holiness
No Darkness Exists Within Him.
Perfect Example Of Dad.
Father wounds
Atheism – I Have No Father.
Deism (creator who left us to tend to ourselves) – I Have A Father But he abandoned me and I’m fine on my own.
Extreme Reformed Theology – I Have A Father. He’s distant and dominant, so I avoid him to avoid getting hurt.
Extreme Feminist Theology – I don’t need a father because men are dangerous and toxic. I’m happy worshipping God as mother.
Christian -you are ADOPTED into the Body of Christ – God the Father is your Father.
Ephesians 1:4-6 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

WHO IS JESUS?

We can tell people what Jesus did for us or what we want Him to do but can we tell people who He is? If we study theology and the ROCKS of doctrine we can.
Let’s try in 1 –
He is as much God as is the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus came to earth as fully man and fully God. He was the manifestation of God in the flesh.
He shared the good news of salvation and eternity – that’s the Gospel – Gospel literally means “Good News”.
Jesus lived to die as the final atonement for the sins of humanity.
ONLY way to God –
John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Jesus is Savior and Lord
WHO DO YOU SAY JESUS IS?
Matthew 16:13-19
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
NOTE – THIS IS WHY WE STUDY DOCTRINE!!! WE CANNOT KNOW THE POWER WE ARE GIVEN UNLESS WE KNOW WHO GIVES IT.
God The Spirit
WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?

He is as much God as is the Father and the Son.
Holy Spirit lives inside of you. You are God’s temple:
1 Corinthians 6:19 (Amplified Bible) – Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]?
Big Picture Purpose:
You have a body and a soul.
Your body commits sin and your soul is condemned.
When you die your body goes into the ground and your soul goes to hell.
When you accept Christ as your Savior, God in the Holy Spirit lives within you.
Now you have body, soul & Spirit.
When your body sins and you repent, the Spirit restores your soul.
When you die, your body goes into the ground, your soul goes to heaven and the Spirit who is God, returns to God.
John 14:26 – But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
There is FREEDOM:
– 2 Corinthians 3:17 – “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

To trust God we must know God.
To know ourselves we must know God.
To know God is to understand that God is TRINITY – The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
